Plastic Tides Visits ISLA

On April 11, we also received a visit from Christian Shaw of Plastic Tides. His organization uses guided paddleboarding trips to raise awareness of our heavy reliance on the use of plastics. It was amazing for the students to hear how their own projects mirrored the development of this organization. This visit kicked off a month focused on sustainability and the reduction of our consumption. We collected and recycled hundreds of plastic bottles, cleaned our beaches and a local river, and encouraged students to take individual action in their own communities.
